The whole game, in one place your team owns.

Design docs, dialogue graphs, tasks, milestones, playtests and your game’s items, linked to each other. Self-hosted, on your own network, bought once.

Objects: your game’s data, inherited from parent to child, linked to everything that mentions it.

The essentials

Objects, docs and graphs, all linked.

Your items, enemies and levels are objects that inherit from each other. Design docs and dialogue graphs mention them, and every object shows everything that talks about it.

  • Items as data, not a spreadsheet tab
  • Edited live, with everyone’s cursor
  • Every object shows what mentions it
Management

Say hello to a friendly kanban board.

Lists, cards, points and people: the board you’re used to, with the docs and objects each task is about one click away, and milestones that say if you’re on track.

And if you like to spice it up a bit, try Deck mode: each person draws a weekly hand of cards from the board, sized to the time they have.

  • Drag cards along, live with the whole team
  • Milestones with a burn-up and a post-mortem
  • Deck mode, when the board needs some fun
Optional AI

Chat with your whole project.

The assistant reads your docs, graphs, objects, tasks and playtests, so it answers about your game, not games in general. It’s 100% optional: one checkbox turns it off, and it runs on your own key.

  • Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral and more
  • Drafts and edits docs and graphs with you
  • Shows where each answer comes from
Yours to keep

No subscription to lose your game to.

Tools come and go, prices go up, accounts get closed. Your design docs shouldn’t go with them.

Your server, your files

Run it on a studio machine, a NAS or a small cloud box. Your docs and builds never sit on someone else’s servers.

Works on a private network

Qwest runs fully on a server your team is connected to, even one that’s never published to the internet: a studio network or a VPN.

Pay once, keep it

A year of updates is included. When it ends nothing stops working: you keep the last version, and renew only if you want what’s new.

Updates

It keeps getting better.

Every release brings new features and bug fixes. A year of them comes with your license, and renewing keeps them coming. Stop, and you keep the last version you got.

Questions

Something else? Write to hello@qwest.dev, a person on the team answers.

Do I need to be technical to self-host it?

If someone on the team can set up a game server, they can set up Qwest. Or let us host it.

Does Qwest need to be on the internet?

No. It runs fully on a server your team is connected to, like a studio network or a VPN, without being published to the web. The license is activated once over the internet, and that can be done from another device.

What happens when my year of updates ends?

Nothing stops. You keep the last version you got, and can renew whenever you want newer ones.

Does everyone on the team need a seat?

No. Indie covers the whole studio, however many people work on the game.

Do I have to use AI?

No, it’s 100% optional: if you don’t want it, it’s one checkbox away. If you do, bring your own key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Mistral, OpenRouter, xAI, DeepSeek, Groq or any OpenAI-compatible provider. Nothing goes to a model you didn’t pick.

Can we try it before buying?

Yes: the hosted Free plan runs one project for up to 3 people.

Make the game, not the tool stack.

The whole team, one price, yours to keep.
