Qwest
Self-hosting

Qwest on your own server.

Buy it once, run it where you want, and keep it. Your team reaches it over your own network, and nobody else has to.

Your network

It doesn’t have to be on the internet.

Qwest runs fully on a server your team is connected to: a machine in the studio, a NAS, or a cloud server behind a VPN. It never needs to be published to the web.

A server with no internet at all can still be activated: its admin page shows a code to paste from any other device, and the answer finishes the activation.

What you get

Yours, from the data to the version you run.

Your data stays with you

Docs, boards, builds and uploads live on your machine, under your backups and your rules.

Backups on their own

Every night out of the box, keeping the last 7. Change the schedule, start one by hand, download or restore any of them.

New features and fixes

Every release brings both, and a year of them is included. Install each when it suits the team; when the year ends, you keep the last version.

AI only if you want it

It’s off with one checkbox. Turn it on with your own key, from the provider you pick.

Only who you invite

Accounts come from invite links. Workspaces, teams, and guests for contractors, publishers and playtesters.

On phones too

Qwest installs as an app on phones and tablets, wherever they can reach your server.

Getting started

From buying to the first project.

Buy a license

You get a license key by email. It names your studio and never changes.

Install Qwest

Download the release from your account and run it on a machine your team can reach.

Activate it

Sign up first: the first account on a server is its admin. Paste the key on the admin page, or use a code from another device if the server has no internet.

Invite the team

Make a workspace, then send invite links. Everyone joins from their own computer or phone.

Questions

Setting up a server and stuck? Write to hello@qwest.dev.

Does Qwest need to be on the internet?

No. It runs fully on a server your team is connected to, like a studio network or a VPN, without being published to the web. The license is activated once over the internet, and that can be done from another device.

Can I use it away from the studio?

Yes, as long as your device can reach the server: on the studio network, over a VPN, or over the internet if you choose to publish it.

What happens when my year of updates ends?

Nothing stops. You keep running the last version it covered, and can renew to get newer ones.

Can I move the server later?

Yes. Take a backup, restore it on the new machine, and move the activation from your account.

Make the game, not the tool stack.

The whole team, one price, yours to keep.
